Delivering on a tease from earlier this week, Hollow Knight: Silksong opened proceedings at Gamescom ONL, with host Geoff Keighley revealing that the highly anticipated metroidvania will launch in 2025.
Alongside the reconfirmation of the release window, Keighley offered a sliver or new gameplay footage, expanding on the scenes last seen in 2022, when Team Cherry last showed off Silksong. Earlier today, Team Cherry announced that it would be hosting a special Hollow Knight: Sliksong premiere on YouTube later in the week, with hopefully a lot more information to share.
First revealed back in 2019, a Silksong release date had become something of a running joke in the last couple of years, with fans regularly posting images of a summoning circle every time a new games conference was announced. For a while, details on the game were hard to come by as Team Cherry continued work on it, dropping brief teases every so often.
